The raw material is the wool of a specific type of sheep known for its small size and high strength. The production of these rugs requires exceptional craftsmanship, passed down from generation to generation, as well as a large dose of patience. The production of each of these unique pieces takes 1 to 4 months - depending on the size of the rug. Kilim rugs are flat-woven and known for their colorful geometric patterns. They are made by several Berber tribes in different regions of Morocco. To maintain a Berber rug, it is recommended to dust the rug regularly and gently. Ideally, opt for a vacuum cleaner with a soft nozzle. In case of stains, dab quickly with absorbent paper, using baking soda if necessary, before completing the treatment with vacuuming.
