The raw material is the wool of a specific type of sheep known for its small size and high strength. The production of these rugs requires exceptional craftsmanship, passed down from generation to generation, as well as a large dose of patience. The production of each of these unique pieces takes 1 to 4 months - depending on the size of the rug. Beni Ourain is the name of the collective of 17 different Berber tribes living in the Atlas Mountains. These are thick and soft rugs that are in great demand among designers and architects. They are usually white or cream with black or brown geometric patterns. To maintain a Berber rug, it is recommended to dust the rug regularly and gently. Ideally, opt for a vacuum cleaner with a soft nozzle. If stains occur, dab quickly with absorbent paper, using baking soda if necessary, before completing the treatment with vacuuming.
